The color tone of each sport box indicates the percentage of women's or men's events in that particular sport relative to the opposite gender. For example, in the 1908 games, there were four men's events and two women's events in tennis. That translates into 50 percent participation by women and 100 percent participation by men. Mixed-gender events are counted as both men's and women's events.
